Why I Believe Every Woman Must Redefine & Reinvent Herself
There was a time in my life when I hid behind layers — literally and emotionally. I used to layer my clothes because I was deeply insecure about my body, my weight, and how I showed up in the world. At one point I weighed almost 285 pounds, and I had gained that weight during a season of depression where I honestly didn’t know how to find myself again. I knew how to accessorize — I’ve always loved jewelry — but I didn’t really know how to find my confidence, my joy, or my way back to me.
Then my children got older, life got quieter, and I realized I had a decision to make. I could stay where I was, or I could create a different life. I decided I wanted a new life — and if I wanted it, I was going to have to create it. So I started changing from the inside out. I started working out, changing how I ate, and inviting boldness back into my life through color, confidence, style, and self-discovery. What started as style reinvention became a mindset shift. I realized reinvention is about giving yourself permission to grow, evolve, explore, and become more honest about what you want in this chapter.
And I believe every woman deserves that — especially in midlife. Because this is the season when the gray hairs start peeking through, the wrinkles and dimples start showing up, and you may quietly find yourself wondering, do I still have it? It’s the season where you start noticing the younger faces in the room, where retirement can feel more like doom and gloom than possibility, and where midlife will try to sell you the lie that your best years are behind you and that you have nothing left to offer. I do not believe that. I believe you owe it to yourself to to keep discovering, to keep inviting joy, boldness, style, confidence, and meaning into your life.
Your life belongs to you, and there comes a point when you have to decide that this chapter will not be about fading out — it will be about living fully, boldly, and on purpose.
